Nigel Hare

Nigel Hare started his career in the NHS in 1985 in an administrative role, and subsequently worked within the ambulance service control room answering 999 calls and dispatching ambulances to incidents. After qualifying as an operational paramedic in 1992 he started a three year secondment as a Flight Paramedic with Devon Air Ambulance which developed into a 20 year flying career whilst also undertaking a variety of roles with in the organisation including clinical support, training, CRM and operational management.

As the organisations Operations Director, Nigel’s responsibilities include the strategic development and day delivery of the service. Supported by the Patient Services management team and working closely with his Executive Assistant, Catherine Moss-Crump, Nigel holds specific accountability to the Care Quality Commission, NHS and Home Office for the clinical care and governance delivered by the paramedics and doctors working on the service’s two Air Ambulance helicopters, both during daylight hours and the hours of darkness.
