Revd John Chitham was educated at the LSE and Durham University, working initially as a teacher. He has been an ordained Anglican priest for 25 years, looking after churches in Wiltshire, Beirut and Worthing. In that time he has had both to suffer without a PA and has been grateful to have the assistance of a PA. He is now the Chaplain to the Bishop of Blackburn and runs his office of three secretaries/PAs as well as interacting with PAs of other officers for the diocese. In everyday terms the Bishop is the CEO of over two hundred paid staff and more volunteers. The diocese of Blackburn is probably the biggest charity in terms of personnel and turnover in Lancashire.
